Friday, 26 November 2010. Cat-Back 3’ Exhaust System

After fitting the air intake last night, I drove the car up to East Coast Customs for the exhaust fitting. 

I wanted to keep the car road legal in every way with no problems getting through the MOT on emissions. John at ECC advised me to go for the HKS muffler with one of their custom build 3’ pipe systems, matted to the original STi down pipe. The original cat was left in place and the 2nd cat removed. 

The workmanship was superb and I collected the car the same day. The engine now has a deep burble at idle and the boxer sound roars right through the rev range. Once in 6th gear on the motorway however, the noise drops right off to give a nice, quiet cruising note so it doesn't give you a headache!
