After chatting with John at East Coast Customs, I decided to go ahead and pay the deposit on a forged engine build. Basically once the Impreza engines start reaching 350BHP, your pistons and rings are the weak points and so need upgrading to deal with the extra power.
Currently, a new bottom end and STi crank shaft are on order from Subaru and ECC are going to add race bearings, H-Section connecting rods and forged pistons along with new gaskets to build a bottom end capable of taking 500BHP safely.
In a couple of weeks once its ready, they are taking my car into the workshop and swapping the engine.
