Wednesday, 10 November 2010. The boost gauge

After the dump valve was fitted, I wanted the see what the standard boost pressure was before I started any serious modifications.
I purchased a custom gauge holder for the dash, to go at the bottom of the A-Pillar, then choose a Prosport Mechanical boost gauge.
It was simple enough to fit by using the Tee fitting supplied and connecting the boost gauge hose to the Tee fitting, then using some extra 5mm silicone piping, I tee’d into the top of the dump valve pressure line. This saved me having to cut the original hose from the boost solenoid to the dump valve.
I then wired the electrical connections into the dash clock which was always on when the ignition was on and then opted to use the amber red lighting. You can also wire it to have a bright white, or a mixture of both for day and night driving, but I thought that the amber matched the STi dash nicely.
Once up and running, the boost gauge showed 1.0 Bar boost pressure, exactly what the standard engine should produce.
