The trouble with modifying....

Well with the engine out, it looks like the standard clutch and flywheel have taken a total pounding in the past. The pics below show some pretty bad scoring on the clutch plate and flywheel. Basically after 20,000 miles of prob hard abuse, I'll have to drop in stronger aftermarket parts to take the increased engine power.

Although initially its added cost, it's easier to replace it all now once the engine is out as you don't need to remove it again later once the clutch fails. As with any form of wear, once it starts, it doubles and doubles over time faster and faster so it's not just a case of dropping in the old clutch and winging it.
