In the past few months, the car has sat and I haven't had a chance to really do too much to it. With all the usual distractions like work and socialising, the car has really been at the back of my mind.
I did some research and was even about to purchase a nitrous kit until I got in touch with my engine builder and they said the EJ257 semi closed deck is kind of on the limit of reliability/performance. Once you get over 500NHP, its not a matter of IF the liners will crack, its WHEN.
The option was then to do a full engine build with stronger rods and Darton Iron sleeves to replace the existing liner and push for 600 BHP on NOS or hold off until I need the work.
I decided that due to a few small fuel leaks from the regulator in the past, I have lost confidence in the existing fuel pressure regulator. SO, I decided to upgrade the fuel system in general to a parallel rail setup, with anodised connections and reinforced lines. Once I begin the install next month, Ill include a full write up here, as the inlet manifold and a lot of pipework needs to come out. I plan to do the work myself, then get the car Re-mapped by East Coast Customs again and perhaps increase the current BHP a little, but its mainly being upgraded from a safety viewpoint.
