Nitrous kit installation complete.

I finally managed to get around to completing the install.

After fitting the NOS solenoids, it was time to complete the wiring inside the car. The whole setup is very straight forward, just make sure you read the manual, then read it AGAIN. Sounds stupid, but you really don't want to get a system like this wrong.

All the clasps and fasteners needed were supplied, an although it had mentioned to instal the relay in the engine bay, I chose to instal it near the switches in the cabin, and run one 2m 30Amp cable from the battery, into the cabin.

A second cable was also needed from the battery supply to the switches and I was able to route these through the fire wall and into the passenger side footwell. I then hid the wires under the carpet and wired the switches up exactly as the manual stated. The one modification I did choose to make was swapping the contact switch (that makes contact with the throttle body on wide open throttle, or under the gas pedal at full throttle) with an airplane style arming switch. This is mainly due to my driving style as once Im full throttle on the drag track, I want to be able to manually activate the system anytime i want once in gear, even though I may already be full throttle. This will allow me to fire the NOS later on up the rev range and then only for a few seconds before killing the power again.

Once all the switches were installed, I put the fogger nozzle in a spare empty container and turned the ignition on and activated the system for a second to test to ensure that nitrous and fuel were sprayed. Success!!

I then needed to tap the inlet pipe before the throttle body. I tried to keep to the minimum 6 inches away from the inlet plate and before any bends, so the pics show the straight section just after the dump valve was best.

I used a 6mm drill bit then put a thread on the pipe using the supplied imperial tap. I used some WD40 to clean out ht pipe and remove any metal particles before refitting the inlet pipe.

All that was left was to clean up the wires and secure with cable ties in the engine bay. Im really looking forward to the next track session now....
