Progressive Nitrous controller

After the previous test of he nitrous system, I had decided that injecting all of the nOS in one go would be too much on the transmission, no matter how much power I went for. I therefore decided to go for the electronic controller, which allows you to feather in the injection and gently load up the engine from 30-100% over a few seconds. It will also help to map the car as 35/50BHP in one go might be too much and I don't want to risk a lean hit all in one go.

The Wizards of Nos Minimax controller works with all sorts of systems and solenoids, however its worth bearing in mind that the control wire colours are all different so before removing the original NOS brand relay, I labelled everything with post-it notes to make sure I had the correct wires from the engine bay. There is a noticeable difference in wiring, so its worth checking your own brand and comparing it to the minimax.

I removed all the old wiring, marked it, then rolled the install diagrams. Once connected up, it was a matter of following the setup instructions to set the injection time and ramp up time. This actually took about 2 mins in total it was that easy!

Seeing as I had the dash opened up, I then decided to install the Glowshift remote gauge as well. Basically, its just a remote pressure transducer like any other gauge and it fitted to the bottle with a 4AN takeoff adapter, for the 1/8NPT sensor. The wire ran to the cabin, where I connected to the gauge and added a 12V power supply from another gauge already installed.

The controller was quit a challenge to fit, mainly because there was no where left to hide the wires on the dash and install. I then removed an air vent and fed the wires down the inside on the dash. It was then easy to connect up and hide from view. One other problem I found was that the 3-pole arming switch that came with the NOS kit didn't work, so I fitted a simple 2 pole switch and miraculously the system worked!
