Engine build day 6 and 7 (half day each)

I sent a half day on each head, measuring all the shims, installing the new valve seals and then using the special tool, to compress the valves springs. This allowed me to install the valve cotters to lock the valves in place.

Once the shim measurements were taken and also the size of each bucket shim and its location in the heads, I installed new seals on the valve covers. Im now waiting for some new "hand moon" seals, as they broke during removal, when cleaning the heads.

I also managed to order a new STi spec flywheel and a Competition Clutch Stage 2 unit. As well as cosworth head gaskets and some other seals needs. Once these arrive over the next few days, I can get the engine onto the stand using the crane to remove it from the bench, then start spinning it round and bolting on the heads and getting them torqued down. Once in place and under torque, I can then check the valve lash, before installing cams and rocker covers. The timing belts will then be able to go on and its close to being at a point where I can drop the engine in!

IU also took the time to clean out the garage, as I was getting bogged down in packing material and all the parts were all over the place!
