I tried something terrifying today....taking sand paper to my paintwork!
I used a 1200Grit sandpaper and water to wet sand some light scratches on the roof of the MR2. Apparently, it helps to take scratches out from the clear coat.
Its terrifying when your wash off the sand paper dust and you paint is dull and scuffed, but after some compounding and the polisher, it came back good as new. I think a few more sessions are needed to remove the scratch, but the motel feels ultra smooth now compared to the rest of the panel!
After the sanding, I gave a quick wax coat to each panel. For 22year old paint, its slowly coming up well!
