Live road tuning and mapping

Now that summer has arrived, I managed to get a couple of free hours on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon to fit the wideband gauge and do some power runs on the "beast".

I purchased a new Zietronix ZT-2 controller and gauge. After installation was complete and the old Innovate gauge was removed, I got some assistance from Peter to help me calibrate the 0-5V signal to the ecu. This was so that the ecu could read the same AFR value as I could see on the gauge.

My target was 1.60 bar and after a few runs, slowly increasing the watergate duty cycle and adding fuel, I hit 1.62Bar, with good AFR readings around 11.0

I then logged the power run and made some small adjustments by reducing timing and fine tuning the fuel above 4000 rpm.

I need to do a fine run to confirm everything but the car is close enough to where I want it poor wise and it feels great. Smooth, serious torque from 3800rpm up to 7000rpm.

My dash mounted gauge is actually 0.2 bar higher than the MAP signal to the ecu so I only used to for a rough guide after each power run to compare what the ecu was seeing from the sensors on the engine.

Also, the knock monitor was fantastic as at one point it detected knock with a value around 50. after pulling 1 degree of timing and adding fuel, that had dropped to 35.

One more day behind the wheel will do things, but for now, the car is glorious to drive. I just need to rack up the miles and enjoy it.....
