The car passed MOT first time, with no advisories....the guys at the test station couldn't believe how clean it was under neath. They even gathered and took a few pictures!
Anyway, I did a few things prior to MOT to prepare it:
Oil change and filter was completed
Fog light installed in the rear (replacing one JDM reverse light)
Painted and repaired lacquer peel on bonnet and front drivers wing
The paint was not a perfect match but its still better than it was. Originally there was a lot of lacquer peel on the bonnet and front wing. I managed to get some paint matched and buy some spray tins and decided to tidy it up a little.
The car also had the usual Japanese Window wind deflectors....hate them (personal choice, so when I tried to remove them, they took the case coat wit them. I also touched up the roof line and roof vent to blend the paint in and make it look presentable.
Looking underneath the car, its exceptionally clean, and the previous owner even replaced the exhaust with an original OEM replacement and ensured that the heat shield paint was touched up also.
The first drive I had was on the way to the test centre and I took it rather easy to warm up the engine. Once through emissions testing, I seriously enjoyed the drive home, and worked the car through the gears. The clutch feels solid and the engine sounded tight and free to rev right up to the redline around 8000rpm. Between the EJ20 and the RA close ration box, its a lot of fun on the twisty Irish roads!!
