Memories

Now that the Covid virus has been taking hold worldwide, Im sure everyone reading this is in lockdown. I hope your staying safe and well.

J thought I would just have a quick review on the blog and a couple of nice memories popped up on my facebook.

9 years ago today, the original scooby was collected and taken for its forged engine build.

Of course my own modifications had started earlier than this.... so  guess actual ownership of my first sccooby goes back nearly 10 years now. Phenomenal! I just dont know where the time goes.

Moving forward in time to 6 years ago, the had changed dramatically in 3yrs. Painted, carbon fibre aero kit and big turbo installed. I think this one photo is my favorite memory and actually looking back I think the car was really at its peak, in this one memory.

After this, there has been another engine, new ecu setup and the car is in its current widebody state.

Its been a crazy 9yrs and hopefully many more to come. I have had a lot more cars since these pictures, but the "Beast" is still my favorite and once this infernal Covid19 virus is under control, hopefully we can all get back to a new state of "normal" and have some fun.

For now, Im stuck in Mexico and cant get back to Ireland so Ill try to post some other interesting planning posts over the coming weeks, until I can get home and break out the ratchets!

The next plan is to finish setting up the ride height on the Tein coilovers and replace the catalytic converter so that I can complete the MOT test. While the car is on the ramp, I want to remove the steering rack also, as it looks like the is a small oil weep from the seals. Better do it now when the car is off the road. I plan to use this time to have a good check up around the chassis and try to repair any surface rust. After 10 winters, Im sure it could use some love and attention.
