Type RA pre storage checks

I decided that now the Type RA is safely home, I could take it off the road as such, and put in storage. 

I decided to change the diff oil first, as I’m waiting on some extra gearbox oil to arrive. Once that gets here I’ll do the engine oil as well. 

I have the car a full wash and cleaned the underside, then used some engine degreasing solution on the engine, then snow foam and water to wash down. After that I used some plastic treatment to really make the plastics and trim shine. 

Once the car was on the lift, I opened the differential plugs to drain the oil and it was in excellent condition. It looked brand new so a good song that the Japanese owner had paid attention to the small details as it’s easy to over look transmission oil changes when trying to save a few dollars. Luckily, it looks like the previous owner did things the right way and stayed on top of the serving. 

After that, I decided to remove the blitz turbo timer, as I have a new HKS Type 1, which has a mph indication. (More on this in a later post) 

I removed the dash binacle and exposed all the wires to allow me to trace the connections and disconnect the turbo timer harnes from the ignition wires .I then plugged the ignition harness back together and the car started first time. That’s as far as I have gotten for now, but I’ll update the turbo timer harness over the next few days.
