Evo X setup

I decided with all the dry weather that it would be a good opportunity to do a baseline run on the evo as I purchase the tactic Openport 2.0 cable. 

This allows me to data log, lice tune and fault finding via the laptop. As it’s an HKS FQ330 the ecu is locked so I need the cable and some home made wiring harness to allow me to remove the ecu and bench flash it to a stock map to allow me to actually tune it. 

This run was basically an excuse to see if I could get everything talking to each other. Fortunately my wideband works with the evoscan software so it was more of a dunny run to allow me to get familiar with the hardware. 

It will take some time to tailor it to the data I need to tune but for now it’s good to see I can tune it! 

Next time home, I’ll get round to benching the ecu to remove the factory map and put a starting map on it and then I can start adding boost! 

From what I could see the current map was letting it boost to 1.25 Bar so the HKS tune is just a little boost over the factory map. 

I then added a cold air intake... nothing fancy, just a cheap mushroom filter and that really lets you hear the turbo suck on acceleration. I know cold air factory intake boxes are better but I just like the sound. Each to their own...
