I have been keeping my eye out for a type R again after selling g my last one a couple of years ago to help pay towards the RX7.
I dont regret buying the Rx7 but I really regret selling my version 6 Type R.
I had been on the auctions lately and made a few bids but it became quickly apparent that Japanese car prices are going crazy. Last year a grade 4 car would have been 15k GBP, lately the Repair grade have been going for this.
I found a nice one at Torque GT who I have bought most of my cars from in the past and after the initial enquiries I found out that I was too late and the car was sold. I told them that if it came up again, to keep me in mind.
I was sitting this morning in a meeting at work and an email popped through to say that the buyer of the car had pulled out due to unforeseen circumstances. I quickly said I would take it and transferred the funds. As I'm at work I'll not be able to collect it for a while but I'm just glad I secured it.
It's almost as close to stock as you will get and they had previously carried out a dyno run for the previous potential buyer and it made 300.1BHP so that's 20bhp more from the factory with just a cat back exhaust fitted.
Also, as I'm getting older (not more mature) I like the V4 low rise wing, it's not as aggressive as the version 6 and suits the rally inspired lines of the car better I personally think.
