After getting some garden and security upgrades to the house, I mis-judged my parking distances and managed to crack the over fender on the new gate.

After some bad language and a small tantrum, I ordered some paint and got to work with the body filler.
I used the Isopon filler to bind the crack, then. Sanded and smoothed as best I could. Then I hit it with a bit of primer and some base coat paint before adding the clear coat.
It was a complete rattle can job so it’s not professional by any means but the car is driven hard and maintained well, but it’s no show car. It gets used!
I also took the chance to paint a replacement splitter to replace the cracked one that had been in place for a log time. Slowly, slowly I managing to get the time to fix all the small issues.
The paint shop that fitted the over fenders did a terrible job matching the paint and you could actually see a line where there were two different colours. I used this chance to sand out the line and actually managed to blend in the new rattle can paint (which was a better match) into the wheel arches original paint. I have now ordered a couple more tins of the paint so I plan to repaint all the fenders to get them back to a better body match. This has been a point that annoyed me from having the job done. It’s only now that I feel comfortable and confident enough to try my hand at it. More updates to follow!
