Who likes a turbo "whoooosshh"?? I do......
I know a lot of people hate the attention an aftermarket BOV can give, but there is something satisfying flying along on full boost and lifting off, only to hear the air blast out the trumpet and dump som pressure to atmosphere.
I managed to buy a good used BOV from a friend online and decide as its a "bolt on" mod, that can be easily reversed, that I would try it out.
The install is simple:
1) Remove the clamp holding the intercooler hose and pull the hose off the Intercooler.
2) Look deeper down and follow the hose to the factory BOV, then undo the clamp and slide the BOV out of the hose. Remember to disconnect the vacuum hose on the side of the BOV.
3) Install the new plug into the lower hose and clamp tight. This is because the new BOV vents to atmosphere and not back to the engine. You need to plug the old hose.
4) Fit the new BOV to the lower hose section and secure with a clamp.
5)Reconnect the upper hose section to Intercooler. Tighten and enjoy! You should now here the lovely Whoooossshhhh, when you lift off the gas on full load!
