After a good wash and getting it on the ramp, the underside is solid, after a heavy applcication of undersea. Not the worst job, but it looks like someone did it themselves. Most of the areas were covered and I only noticed a light rust in the drivers side rear sill area. A quick blast with the wire brush and some hammertoe later, and it was good as new.

The downpipe gasket leak has been the most challenging, as two nuts/studs came out easily, however the third one, on the top had been rounded off. Clearly someone had butchered it in the past and gave up trying to repair the gasket.

I know it needs fixed, so the only way is the long, slow and proper way.... I cut some of the downpipes heat shield away with a grinder to get access. Then managed to fit my junior hacksaw in across the flange and stud. About an hour of hacking away, the exhaust came free. Unfortunately the upper studs is threaded into the downpipes body, so there is no way to just drill it out and put a bolt through. Im going to have to be very careful and use a stud extractor to try and remove the remaining piece of studs in the cat. Then, re-thread it....... seeing as my lower back, shoulders and fingers are now killing me, Ill leave it for now and take a break!!
